By a vote of 29 to 27 the French Polynesian assembly has changed its mind about the tax. No, it’s not a reversal of the original tax suspension, but instead of October 1st of this year until the end of 2009, the tax will only be suspended until the end of this year.According to Gaston Flosse (UDSP) this measure is just a patch not a fix. It is going to help in the short term, but will do nothing toward fixing Tahiti’s woes in the long term.
