That's a wonderful cake! And it looks like the pearls are reusable. I thought they crushed it into powders.
Anyway let's not forget that sugar are not good for pearls the same way as sugars are not good for our teeth.
What food group are pearls and pearl dust classified as? Maybe they are a good source of iron. Can I loose weight on a pearl diet?
Pearls are nice natural body scrubbers so I think they will clean fats inside your body but I don't think it will really make you lose weight if you still eat the same kind of foods. Pearls has been used as natural cure for heartburns by the Kings & Queens of ancinet past and since those are natural pearls they are considered the most expensive antacids and they have the same chemical make up as a roll of TUMS antacids.
I would advise you to eat only mishapen cheap freshwater pearls since they are all nacre and not the dyed ones. I used to to this in the past but it still hurts my precious golden heart everytime I destroy one pearl no matter how cheap they are they are still unique and alive. Besides I exercise and eat lots of vegetables and fruits os I don't have obesity problems.
Also one uses for grinded pearls is I use them to exfoliate my face. I find them more cost effective than diamond peel.
And to answer your question about what food groups pearls belong?
There are two main substances that creates a pearl. 1. Nacre is a combination of calcium carbonate that the oyster forms into a mineral aragonite. 2. Conchiolin is an organic protein that serves as a natural cement for the aragonite crystals to bond permanently.
Pearls are 99% aragonite crystal and 1% percent organic matter with some trace elements available in the area. So the only food part of the pearl is the 1% organic living matter and the rest are minerals which is also essential for our Heavenly Bodies.
So good luck with that and don't even try to copycat Cleopatra unless the bet is the World.
A slice of filthy rich Australian heartburn, anyone? Then you can pop some of those nice cheap Chinese crushed pearl calcium pills to relieve it.
I wonder who got a mouthful?
This is "status food", the quite natural alimentary evolution of the squirrel-skinning, grass-eating, and berry-picking that the filthy rich initially had to endure. For the average person, the food evolution took the form of that "staple food"--- bread.
For those that identify themselves with monetary excess, maybe this is their subtle way of telling us that the filthy rich are in no forthcoming danger of starving.
The cake is surely thought of as a masterpiece by these filthy rich dudes looking to declare their status. It is a work of financial value. Expensive and awfully conspicuous, sometimes these types of displays just don't work to the displayer's advantage. Everyone who is not filthy rich can't help but but feel that there is something a little weird about the person/people making the display.
I tried making something similar in my Easy Bake Oven but it didn't turn out too good.
