I came across and interesting blog post this morning mentioning Paspaley. The blog does not necessarily deliberate pearls. It’s more about exposing the happenings at the Corruption and Crime Commission of Western Australia.Paspaley has quite the tendency to make news over in Australia. There was the recent tax issue, and they are constantly sponsoring one event or another. But this report is interesting.
The blogger, or group of bloggers, are claiming that Brett McCallum, who is the current Executive Director of the Pearl Producers Association in Australia, is more or less a lobbyist for the Paspaley organization with the CCC.
The claim goes on to state that the restrictive policy of hatchery shell essentially gives control of production directly to the big players in such a way as to put a stranglehold on the small players. This is putting them out of business.
It is a provocative read. How much of it is indubitable, I have no idea. If it is true, there's no big surprise here.

The world's current economic condition is sure to trim some of the power-generating fat from the richest coffers.
When nobody is buying, the largest are often the quickest to succumb as they have the largest vested interest and and the farthest to fall.
Nick Paspaley is the biggest scumbag to hit the jewelry world, ever! He would sell his own mother to devil if given half a chance. Too bad he controls so much of the white SS market.
Can anyone give some examples of his scumminess? Isn't his real name Nikolas George Paspalis? Why change it to Paspaley? Paley is a Russian noble's name. But he is Greek. ????????????
Nicolas has gone so big corporate with his boats alone. I bet he has a private jet too. He has wrangled good political deals for his family that make it harder for others to make a living.
He could be tattered because most of the price for Paspaley pearls is to pay for the over-sized luxury work boats and labs making the pearls far more expensive than they need to be.

It doesn't work that way! Why would I need to "buy" souls that are already earmarked for a good torching, ye peabrained? You people have no logic.That's why so many of you easily end up down here. Carry on.
Nikolas George Paspalis has done more than simply dominate the pearl industry. He is now the co-director of what will be Australia's largest detention centre, Wickham Point, where asylum seekers will live on swampland infested with mosquitoes. Profiting off produce from the sea is one thing, but profitting from the suffering of fellow men is abhorrant.
