Overkill, probably, but still I agree with the end of your assessment that this is probably good news for pearls that one of the hottest names in fashion is embracing the pearl trend.

Yes any focus on pearls by someone in the lime light like Gaga should be seen as positive.There have been many promotions in the past , sports stars catwalk models . There was a time when buyers would beat a path to a producers door , no promotion needed . Good quality pearls were hard to come by relativley rare in relation to demand . When it heads back that way surviving producers will have a chance.

Yeah I thought a lot about blogging about this recent appearance, but in the end decided against it- the look is just so... fugly. She looks like she's got curdled something all over her face, or maybe some yeasty nasty rash. Ewwwww.
They don't look cheap, they are cheap. Pearls use to be rare and expensive but now they are everywhere and cheap. Pearls were for royalty but now you can by them online everywhere and they are the death of the industry......
Actually the look is more like the infamous "pearl necklace" so popular in the adult film industry.
Bill Walton, still a Deadhead, now says he wants to go on tour with Lady Gaga. Go figure.
